Within İstanbul’s Beyoğlu distict, this man poses for a picture wearing a popular Turkish hat. After a long day of sight-seeing, these tourists rest just outside of an authentic Turkish cafe, smoking hookah and enjoying each other’s company. These İstanbul locals make their way through the crowded streets of Beyoğlu by hoping onto the back of this Taksim bound train. Here a crowd of politically conscious individuals chant in support of saving the Syrian town of Kobane. A young boy entertains a crowd of shoppers by playing his drum. A child plays a toy accordion hoping to collect money from shoppers, tourists, and locals passing by. This man plays his clarinet for shoppers passing through. Here two women perform a duet on the streets collecting whatever donations from those around them. A group of Muslim women shop at a vintage outdoor book store across the street from the famous Pera Hotel.
