Ankara Jazz Festival
Ankara International Jazz Festival has been going on since 19th of November and will held its closing at the end of this week.So, if there are any jazz fans out there who hasn’t gone to this festival yet, you still have time!

16 November, 20:00, Sam’s BistroDurul Gence started his music career in 1954, while he was still a student at the Naval Academy and earned his fame in 1970 with his “Şeyh Şamil” record. He has played with Ajda Pekkan, Gönül Yazar, Tanju Okan as well as Anders Koppel and Herbie Mann. He celebrated his 5oth year in music in 2005. Durul Gence 4+1 is consisted of: Durul Gence – timpani, bongo, tumba, percussion Michiel Bortslap & Sibel Köse-Love Songs
17 November, 20:00, Meb Sura HallWith Sibel Köse at the vocals and Michiel Bortslap at the piano, the night will consist of romantic love songs. Bortslap is a member of Royal Academy of Arts & Science and is a well-known Dutch pianist. He has recorded over 2o albums and has won the prize for Best Soloist at Europe Jazz Contest in Brussels in 1992. As a side note, this concert is being supported by the Embassy of Netherlands and Durance of Provence. Su İdil Trio
18 November, 20:00, Sam’s BistroSu İdil, who is a native of Ankara, started to sing at age 14. After working with Durul Gence for a while, she attended Nardis Jazz Vocalists competition in 2010 and won the scholarship for Pulawy Jazz Workshop. While she was there she took classes from Sibel Köse as well. She held her first concert in 2011 at 9th Amateur Jazz Musicians Festival. At the concert, she will be accompanied by guitarist Onur Aymergen and trumpet player Doruk Gönentür.
