Ankara International Jazz Festival has been going on since 19th of November and will held its closing at the end of this week.So, if there are any jazz fans out there who hasn’t gone to this festival yet, you still have time!<\/p>\n

Durul Gence 4+1
\n16 November, 20:00, Sam’s Bistro<\/strong>Durul Gence started his music career in 1954, while he was still a student at the Naval Academy and earned his fame in 1970 with his “\u015eeyh \u015eamil” record. He has played with Ajda Pekkan, G\u00f6n\u00fcl Yazar, Tanju Okan as well as\u00a0Anders Koppel and Herbie Mann. He celebrated his 5oth year in music in 2005.<\/em><\/p>\n

Durul Gence 4+1 is consisted of:<\/p>\n

Durul Gence – timpani, bongo, tumba, percussion
\nAtilla \u015eentin – saxophone, clarinette
\nMurat Ulus – bass
\nBilgehan Erten – piano
\nEgemen \u00d6zkasnakl\u0131 – drums<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Michiel Bortslap & Sibel K\u00f6se-Love Songs
\n17 November, 20:00, Meb Sura Hall<\/strong>With Sibel K\u00f6se at the vocals and Michiel Bortslap at the piano, the night will consist of romantic love songs.
\nBortslap is a member of Royal Academy of Arts & Science and is a well-known Dutch pianist. He has recorded over 2o albums and has won the prize\u00a0for Best Soloist at Europe Jazz Contest in Brussels in 1992.
\nAs a side note, this concert is being supported by the Embassy of Netherlands and Durance of Provence.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Su \u0130dil Trio
\n18 November, 20:00, Sam’s Bistro<\/strong>Su \u0130dil, who is a native of Ankara, started to sing at age 14.\u00a0After working with Durul Gence for a while, she attended Nardis Jazz Vocalists competition in 2010 and won the scholarship for Pulawy Jazz Workshop. While she was there she took classes from Sibel K\u00f6se as well. She held her first concert in 2011\u00a0at 9th Amateur Jazz Musicians Festival.
\nAt the concert, she will be accompanied by guitarist\u00a0Onur Aymergen and trumpet player\u00a0Doruk G\u00f6nent\u00fcr.<\/em><\/p>\n
