Today’s post is a special one.<\/p>\n

This weekend, I finally went to Oh Land’s concert. My first time seeing Oh Land live and her first time coming to Ankara as well.<\/p>\n

I wrote about Oh Land before, in my first post. I missed her show in Istanbul and learned that she was going to come to Ankara which inspired me to choose my blog’s topic. She is one of my favourite musicians ever and I want to give some info about her before moving on to the concert.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Oh Land, was actually trained to be a ballerina but she had to quit dancing due to an injury which led her to start making music.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u200bOh Land, aka\u00a0Nanna \u00d8land Fabricius, is a Danish singer-songwriter. At 30 years old, she has 4 studio albums and has been on shows all over Europe and the United States. It’s difficult to put her music under one genre. It’s a bit like indie – pop mixed with electronica. She likes to experiment, so she has many different types of songs.

Ankara Nordic Music Festival, MEB Sura Hall<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u200bOh Land’s concert was part of the Ankara Nordic Music Festival, which held its opening in 2014. It’s organized by\u00a0Altus Arts<\/a>, to give some recognition to Ankara in musical and cultural events. The 3 day long event had a line up including\u00a0Wardruna and\u00a0Jaga Jazzist, besides Oh Land.\u00a0\u200bIt took place in MEB Sura Hall on 27-28-29 November.

This was Oh Land’s last concert of the year and also the last one before having a baby.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u200bShe started off by singing “Machine”, from her album “Earth Sick (2014)”. Which you can listen below from my recording. You can also hear her saying hello to the audience at the end of the song.
